Are You a Carer?

A Carers Strategy is being written by South Glos Council. If you are a Carer they would like to receive your one liners about what is important to you as a carer.

They can then group together all the one liners they receive to determine the headlines for their priorities going forward. They will go out to formal consultation later in the year.

Please send your comments to Emma directly on Emma.Temple@southglos.gov.uk  or contact Janice 07426 862121 or myself on 07967102141 or email info.southglosover50s@gmail.com.  All comments to be with Emma by the end of  October please.

General Advice

Advice for information for adults, children and families

.South Gloucestershire Council has a new web site designed to give information for adults, children and families at:

https://find-information-for-adults-children-families.southglos.gov.uk/kb5/southglos/directory/home.page

It is a mine of information on many topics and worth a visit.

The site is still being developed and if you are a carer for an adult who is elderly, disabled or ill and can spare an hour to help improve the site, they are looking for participants to take part in some website testing activities and answering a few questions at a time that suits you within the working day. The session should take no longer than 1 hour.

The research will be done remotely and all you need is access to a tablet, laptop or computer with Internet access.

We are offering a £20 amazon voucher as a thank you for your time.

To register your interest and find out more please contact digital@southglos.gov.uk

Payment Diversion Fraud

Payment Diversion Fraud affects businesses and customers where electronic financial transactions are taking place.

Criminals will contact businesses or customers via email, usually claiming to be from a company that the business or customer has been dealing with. They will request a payment to be made often or inform the recipient of a change of bank account details.

See attached leaflet for more details.

The cost of living has been increasing across the UK. In May 2022, the annual rate of inflation was the highest it has been since 1982. Whether it's your weekly shop (grocery price inflation is the highest it has been in 10 years) or gas and electricity (which is going up by a sizeable amount) we are all feeling the pinch.
